Getting married in Sicily.
Do you dream of getting married in Sicily? As a documentary wedding photographer, I capture your wedding in a relaxed and spontaneous way, with attention to the moments that truly matter.
Do you dream of getting married in Sicily? Then you are choosing an island with incredible atmosphere and variety. From the clear blue sea and beautiful coastline to mountains, vineyards, charming villages, and of course Mount Etna, which rises impressively above the landscape.
Sicily is a place where you will easily want to spend several days together. Long evenings outdoors, elaborate meals at long tables, family and friends who have traveled especially for you, and above all, plenty of time to enjoy yourselves together.
As a documentary wedding photographer, I capture those days just as they really happen. Spontaneous, relaxed, and without your wedding day turning into one long photoshoot. You experience the day; I ensure that you can relive it all later.

Why get married in Sicily?
Sicily has so many different facets that almost every wedding there can take on a completely different atmosphere.
Getting married with a view of the sea, a ceremony among the mountains, a charming villa surrounded by greenery, or a location with Mount Etna in the background. And afterwards, long outdoor tables, good Italian food, wine, and a party until late in the evening.
The coastline is beautiful, but Sicily is so much more than just beach and sea. You will find mountains, vineyards, ancient cities, small villages, and landscapes that sometimes change completely within an hour's drive.
And of course, there is Mount Etna. The volcano belongs to Sicily and gives the landscape something special. From green vineyards on the slopes to the dark volcanic landscape higher up. This also offers tremendous possibilities for photos.
It is precisely that combination of nature, culture, food, and the relaxed Southern Italian atmosphere that makes Sicily such a special place for a destination wedding.

Sicily is becoming increasingly significant to us.
For me, Sicily is not just a destination I fly to for a photoshoot or wedding. We have an apartment on the island ourselves, so we are there regularly.
That also means that I am getting to know Sicily better and better. Discovering new places, visiting different areas, and experiencing how the light and the landscape change throughout the day.
That is incredibly nice for my photography. The more often you go somewhere, the better you know where to go and where to stay away from the crowds.
In the coming years, I therefore want to further specialize in weddings and photoshoots in Sicily. Not only for Dutch couples, but for couples who have chosen Sicily as the place to get married and bring their family and friends along.

Your wedding, without spending the whole day taking photos
On your wedding day, above all, I want you to be able to enjoy yourselves.
Not constantly hearing that you have to stand somewhere else, walk again, or do something over because it looks better in the photo. I actually prefer photographing what happens naturally.
The tension during the preparations. The first reactions when you see each other. Family and friends hugging. A look during the ceremony. The food, the speeches, the laughter, and of course, the party.
Of course, we will also take photos of you together. But we really don't need to be away from your guests for hours to do that. We look for a beautiful moment and a place that suits you, and above all, we keep it relaxed.
This way, you get not only beautiful photos, but a complete report that shows what your wedding in Sicily was really like.
From wedding day to complete wedding weekend
A destination wedding is often much more than one day.
Family and friends travel to Sicily especially for you and often stay for several days. It is precisely because of this that so many moments arise around the wedding that are at least as valuable to look back on later.
Perhaps your weekend starts with a welcome dinner or casual drinks. The wedding is the day after, and the next morning, everyone is already telling stories from the party during brunch.
Therefore, you can book me not only for the wedding day itself, but also for the moments surrounding it.
Consider, for example:
a welcome dinner or drinks beforehand
a relaxed wedding photoshoot
the entire wedding day
a day-after shoot
a brunch with family and friends
a pool party
an afternoon or evening by the sea
multiple days of photography during your wedding weekend
This creates one complete story of your time in Sicily. Not just the vows, but also everything surrounding them.
A photoshoot in Sicily
Would you like to go out together for a bit before or after the wedding? That is also possible.
Sicily offers countless possibilities for a relaxed photoshoot. On the coast, among the old streets, in the mountains, among vineyards, or with Mount Etna in the background.
A pre-wedding shoot can be nice, for example, as an introduction and to get used to the camera. But perhaps you would prefer to find a beautiful location after the wedding, without planning, guests, or time pressure.
We will look together at what best suits your plans.
Custom destination wedding photography
No wedding in Sicily is the same.
One person wants a few hours of photography during an intimate ceremony and dinner. Another is celebrating for three days with a hundred guests and also wants the welcome dinner and the day after captured.
That is why I do not work with one standard package for destination weddings in Sicily.
The photography is fully tailored to your plans, the number of hours or days, and the moments that are important to you.

Cooperation in Sicily
For weddings in Sicily, I collaborate with Thea from Sicily Love Weddings. She is a wedding planner in Sicily and guides couples through the organization of their wedding on the island. This includes venues, suppliers, planning, and everything that needs to be arranged locally.
Because we work together, we can easily coordinate and ensure that the photography and planning align perfectly. This is certainly convenient, as it keeps communication lines short and allows you to count on guidance from people who know Sicily and destination weddings well.
Do you not have a wedding planner yet and could you use some help with that? Then I would of course be happy to put you in touch with her.
