Getting married abroad

Do you dream of getting married abroad? Going to a place with your family and friends where you don't just experience one special day, but truly spend a few days together. Getting away from home for a while, enjoying the surroundings, long evenings outdoors, and above all, having plenty of time to create memories together.

For me, a destination wedding is therefore much more than just the ceremony and the party. It often starts as soon as everyone arrives and sees each other for the first time. A dinner the evening before the wedding, having a drink together at sunset, the wedding day itself, and perhaps a relaxed brunch or photoshoot the next morning.

As a documentary wedding photographer, I capture those moments as they happen. No posing all day or having to constantly do things for the camera, but photos of you and the people around you as you truly are. The big moments, but also everything that happens in between.

For destination weddings, I focus specifically on Malta, Gozo, and Sicily. Three beautiful islands, each with its own unique atmosphere and plenty of possibilities for a special wedding.

Getting married in Malta and Gozo

Malta and Gozo are places I have been to very often over the years. My father owned an apartment in Malta for twelve years, and because of that, I got to know the islands well. Not only the well-known spots, but also the quieter locations, beautiful streets, coastlines, and places where the light is beautiful at the end of the day.

Malta has a unique combination of historic cities, characteristic buildings, clear blue sea, and impressive coastlines. Gozo is smaller, quieter, and has a completely different atmosphere. As a result, there are countless possibilities for both an intimate wedding and an elaborate destination wedding with family and friends.

Because I know Malta and Gozo well, I can also help you think about beautiful locations for photos and what works well in terms of planning and lighting on your wedding day.

Getting married in Sicily

Sicily has an atmosphere that you really only truly understand when you are there. The beautiful coastline, clear blue sea, mountains, charming villages, and long warm evenings give the island so many different faces. And of course, Mount Etna is part of that too, rising impressively above the landscape in many places.

It is precisely this variety that makes Sicily so special for a wedding. One moment you are standing with a view of the sea, the next among vineyards, old streets, or with Mount Etna in the background. Add the Italian food, long outdoor tables, and the relaxed atmosphere, and you have all the ingredients for a beautiful destination wedding.

We have an apartment in Sicily ourselves, and as a result, we can be found on the island more and more often. For me, it is increasingly becoming a place where photography and private life come together, and where I would love to capture many more weddings and special moments in the coming years.

Whether you dream of a stylish wedding at a villa, a ceremony by the sea, or a celebration among the mountains with a view of Mount Etna, Sicily offers countless possibilities.

Who is getting married abroad for?

More and more couples are choosing to get married abroad. For example, because:

– they want to keep it small and personal
– they love traveling and new places
– they want to get married at a place that really suits them
– they want to combine the wedding with a few days together with family and friends

Whether it's an intimate elopement, a romantic love shoot, or a complete destination wedding, the most important thing remains the same: that you can be yourselves and enjoy the moment.

My role as a wedding photographer abroad

Because I regularly photograph in Malta and Sicily and also spend a lot of time there myself, I know the most beautiful spots and the best light.

I enjoy brainstorming with you regarding locations, the time of day, and the atmosphere that suits you. So that you can simply enjoy yourselves, while I capture the moments as they unfold naturally.
